I’ve spent a few years and more money than I’d like trying to find the right pair of boots, and these are above and beyond anything I could’ve asked for. The leather, stitching, and overall construction are top notch, and the boots fit wonderfully even on the first wear. The caramel finish is a easy to pair with a casual pair of jeans, or with a more dressy outfit for a night on the town. These definitely won’t be my last pair from Caswell!
I can honestly say I’m super pleased with the quality of these. The classic oiled shoulder has so much character and I love the contrast white stitching. Caswell did a great job with the Wayne last. Looks so narrow but is somehow roomy. Kevin recommended a half size down and the fit is great.
These boots have a rugged yet elegant style. The leather has rich grain character and natural appearance that I absolutely love. The Vibram Londra sole a unique look that’s a nice change from micro stubs and commando lugs. The stitching is well executed and the white thread contrasts nicely with the carmel color. I couldn’t be more pleased! These are my first pair of Caswell boots but will not be my last. The black Chromexel Lisbon boots are calling to me!
Kevin was very helpful and responsive when it came to answering questions about sizing and different lasts. Once they arrived, I was blown away by the presentation, fit, and quality of the boots. There was not a single stitch out of place and boots felt sturdy on feet! The fit is slim and like a glove can be worn casual and more dressy given almond shape toe box. I’m already looking at purchasing my second pair.
I would say fit is true to size and if you have a true wide E width then size 1/2 size up.
As a newish boot collector, I look for quality, fit and finish, and of-course customer service. I own about 20 pairs of boots all in the 400-dollar-plus range. My latest purchase was the Lisbon service boot in oiled shoulder, and I must say that Caswell bootmakers hit it out of the park! The fit and finish are superb and the article is built to last. This service boot is beautiful and sturdy and fits like a glove. The customer service from sizing questions to handwritten thank you notes in the boot box makes the presentation very special. I'm a fan for life!
